one place on my bucket list to visit is poland, so today we’re taking a virtual trip to nadzieja in Poznań, Poland. nadzieja literally means ‘the state of expecting or hoping’, and we’re very much hoping to visit this pretty spot one day soon. with black bistro chairs and plenty of flattering lighting, nadzieja has very sleek European vibes, with minimalist Bauhaus-style interiors designed by Agnieszka Owsiany Studio and serves up middle eastern Israeli cuisine with a Vegetarian/Vegan twist — a plant-based menu of local organic produce. we’re going to get into our best buttoned up black blazer, and to add a little sex appeal, we’re going to simply wear a stylish black bra beneath it, a beautiful brass belt and some chic chinos paired with some sassy high-heeled mary janes. i think we’ll walk to dinner and on the way listen to the 1619 podcast from The New York Times. it tells the tale of a ship in 1619 carrying more than 20 enslaved Africans who ultimately arrive in the English colony of Virginia. America was not yet America, but this was the moment it began. No aspect of the country that would be formed here has been untouched by the 250 years of slavery that followed and on the 400th anniversary of this fateful moment, it is time to tell and listen to their story.
